Lawnfest 2013 Child-Friendly Festival!

Lawnfest 2013 Sevenoaks

With child-friendly festivals becoming increasingly popular each summer, us lucky parents now get the best of both worlds. Larmer Tree, Camp Bestival, Latitude and Beautiful Days are all renowned for being family-friendly and have specific areas dedicated to children. Some even have boutique babysitting sessions so that mum and dad can sneak off to see their favourite band for an hour or two. From start to finish, these types of festivals are designed to be a magical experience for everyone and what kid doesn’t enjoy a good old fashion camp-out beneath the stars? With such a happy-go-lucky vibe, even the notorious British summer rain can’t dampen spirits. In fact, festival-going in the UK probably wouldn’t be quite the same without a muddy puddle to squelch your Hunters through!

Child-Friendly Festivals 2013

However, if you’re based in Kent and the idea of camping in a wet field sends shivers down your spine, Lawnfest could be the festival for you. Based in the grounds of West Heath School in Sevenoaks, this 1-day event has a great musical line-up as well as an abundance of activities and shows dedicated to children in the ‘Kid’s Garden’. Known as the small festival with a big heart, Lawnfest has an intimate ‘locals’ feel and a lot of the delicious food and drink on offer is from local providers.

It will be held this Saturday 6th July from 3-10pm and tickets can be purchased from the official website. At this moment in time, the weather isn’t looking too ominous, but even so, don’t let the rain put you off as it’s set to be a fantastic fun-filled afternoon.
